Come to Breckenridge for the Mountains, Stay for the Food

Dining out is one of the reasons we love vacations. While we enjoy tasting new culinary treats, we often simply revel in the opportunity to sit back, relax, and let someone else do the cooking. Plus, many vacation spots feature creative menus with scrumptious local treats that you can't find at home. Breckenridge is certainly no exception. Victorian Main Street is lined with a variety of restaurants that will satisfy even the oddest craving. Here are just a few selections that only scratch the surface of Breckenridge's range of dining delights:

  • A Meat-Lover's Paradise: If you're in the mood for Bar-B-Que or local Colorado game, be sure to plan for a night at Steak & Rib, a "Best of Summit" winner for several consecutive years. Fresh seafood and hand-cut steaks are also on the menu at this casual Breckenridge favorite. A full bar end extensive wine list will similarly help you wet your whistle.
  • Pizza, In or Out: Sure, pizza's an easy meal that will both feed the whole family and make it happy at the same time. As Breckenridge's oldest pizza joint, Fatty's Pizzeria is a great stop for a laid-back meal. Plus, with additional menu items like burgers and pastas, even the pizza-hater will be pleased. If you're in a hurry to get back to your Breckenridge vacation rental, call ahead and take the pizza with you; better yet, have it delivered.
  • A Historic Dinner: A trip to Breckenridge is not complete without a stop at the Gold Pan Saloon and Restaurant. Known as holding the most continuously operating liquor license west of the Mississippi, the Gold Pan is both a local's favorite and often a visitor's first stop. For a glimpse at what Breckenridge might have looked like during its mining heyday, look no farther than the Gold Pan.
  • Yes, I'd Like Cheese with my Wine: Elegant and sophisticated, The Cellar Restaurant and Wine Bar features small plates paired with exceptional wines. Well-trained staff will help you negotiate through the wine list to ensure that your choices will stimulate your taste buds.
  • Relish Colorado Flavors: Sit upstairs and enjoy large picture windows overlooking spectacular mountain views. With a menu of Colorado-inspired themes, Relish is a great restaurant for any visitor. Sure, Colorado lamb meatloaf with fontina mac and cheese might not sound like your normal menu options, but that's the beauty of trying something new. And, you'll find plenty of new delectibles at Relish.
  • Breakfast, Breckenridge Style: Home-style breakfast and lunch takes on a new meaning at The Columbine Café. Maintaining a goal of serving hearty and nutritious meals, The Columbine Café is a good start to an active day in Breckenridge. And, since breakfast is served all day, you decide when you're ready to get your day started.
  • Spice it Up: Perfecting a recipe for more than 540 years certainly means only good things. This is certainly the case at Denzaemon Noodle & Bowl Café, which stems from the authentic soba noodle restaurant in Japan called "Owariya." Bringing the perfected traditional taste of the noodle restaurant's broth to the mountains is certainly a reason to celebrate. Why not do your celebrating over a bowl of their special soup?

If you're lucky enough to make it to Breckenridge during the Spring Massive, you'll likely be able to taste delights from all of these restaurants in the annual "Bite of Breckenridge." And, you never know. These culinary treats might inspire you to cook your own. With a fully-equipped kitchen in a Breckenridge vacation home, you can impress your whole family with your very own masterpiece.
